Follow the provider-specific list
Ask for written instructions before moving anything. Heat, steam and residual programmes have different requirements, and generic internet lists can conflict with the selected method.
Identify medication, aerosols, batteries, waxes, plants, delicate electronics, pets and aquariums so the provider can give method-specific protection or removal instructions.
Process textiles deliberately
Bag textiles in the room before transport. Move them directly to the agreed heat or laundry process, then place processed items into clean sealed storage.
Label bags by status. “Untreated”, “processed” and “do not move” is clearer than a room full of identical black sacks.
Create inspection access
Provide safe access to bed frames, skirtings and furniture without dismantling items unless instructed. Keep screws and fittings with the item if disassembly is required.
Tell the provider about mobility, respiratory, pregnancy, child or pet considerations before treatment so instructions can be adapted safely.
